Too much magic on a pretender?
I've been fiddling around with some lich builds and I've been noticing that sometimes adding too much magic to a pretender results in an increased likelihood of the AI casting spells you don't want after scripting runs out. Anyone else noticed this?

Re: Too much magic on a pretender?
Yes, I've noticed this.
(Disregarding overly common spells like the Shields, or Twist Fate) This is to be expected, since the chances of a spell being cast are affected significantly by the fatigue incurred, having a ton of magic means that many otherwise unused spells have a reasonable chance of being cast.

What Saulot said. The astral shield/fire shield bug is squashed in the new patch, so it's not a problem for much longer.

Re: Too much magic on a pretender?
Ideally the astral/fire shields should never be casted by mages with 12 hitpoints or less.

I've noticed Fire Flies and Flying Shards cause problems too sometimes.

Re: Too much magic on a pretender?
Nothing more frustrating than seeing a mage with something like F6W6E1 fall back to flying shards.
If that spell were eliminated from the game, I would not shed a tear.
Say... any chance we could ever get a list of "prohibited spells" for each caster? So we could manually check off the shields, flying shards, hellpower aka horror me plz, etc. if we don't want a mage to be casting them?

Re: Too much magic on a pretender?
Isn't astral shield really good for low-HP mages? I thought it prevented others from attacking you (pre-emptive paralyzation). I haven't played much with astral thugs so I could be wrong.

Re: Too much magic on a pretender?
I guess the issue is with mages casting Astral Shield when they're already behind a wall of infantry.

Re: Too much magic on a pretender?
If the low-HP mage is getting attacked he's going to die anyway. It doesn't really matter whether he paralyzes a few troops first or not.
Much better for him to kill them before they reach him.
