Default Queue Bug?

Please test this. If you think it is a bug, please email Malfador.

Start a new game and delete two Research Centers from your homeworld. You should now have two free facility slots.

Put Research Center in the queue twice and click Repeat Build.

The game will build two Research Centers, detect that the planet is full and remove Research Center from the queue (just the top one.)

Every turn afterward, the game fails to detect that the planet is full and continually wastes resources trying to build the Research Center.

The solution: The game should remove all facilities from the queue once the planet is full.

(Currently, it just removes the top one.)

((Granted, this is a pretty rare situation.))

A bug, though an odd unusual one.

Explain why you're putting more than one item in the que and repeat building again?

Situation: You establish a colony in hostile space.

The first thing you do is repeat build defensive fighters.

Once the planet appears to be well defended, you clear the queue and select the facilities you want built. For example, you have five slots. So, you select:

Research Center
Research Center
Research Center
Research Center
Research Center

Repeat Build was left on from the 'Repeat Build' of the defensive units.

I had to read that one twice. The first time thru, I thought you said that it continued to build research facilities on a full planet!

It does seem to be a bug, but not the biggest or most important by far.

That is, in fact, what is is doing. The game will continually build research facilities on a full planet.

Malfador has done some AWESOME things to the queue management since the game came out. It is INCREDIBLE that the game will typically check to see if the planet is full and remove the top item from the queue. This is absolutely fantastic. Progress is definitely being made.

Yep. This is a pretty minor bug. Still.... it would be nice if some of the heavy hitters on the board would email Aaron and ask him to add it to the bottom of his list. It is possible that this fix might just take 15 minutes.

Are you saying that it will actually build them and place them on the planet? or simply ATTEMPT to build them, use your resources but not actually add the facility to the planet???

The game better not be putting more than the max facilities on a full planet.

Ok, I tested it. The game does NOT put more than the max facilities on a planet. Therefore, minor bug.

Raynor, anyone can email MM, even you.

At least, I'm making progress. When I started this whole process, I couldn't even get anyone to say there was a bug.

When you started this, you were complaining about the game repeat building spaceports.
That is definitely NOT a bug, its what you put in the build queue, and it is not the game's job to second guess you.

Having resources evaporate against a facility that cannot complete is a bug, and I fully support fixing that.

Well..... You have convinced me, at least, that the game's bugs aren't as annoying as the folks playing the game. I'm into turn 80 or so of my current game. After listening to all you Malfador brown-nosers, the game's UI seems downright clean.
