Re: OT- Heart of Iron Game
It's a pretty cool game, but it has serious balance issues if you play the 1936 scenario.
Right now I am playing Nationalist China and I am in 1936 and I just finished bringing all of the Chinese warring factions under my belt and I have my eye on Siam for it's Rubber and Oil.
It's a dream game for me as my first serious wargame was TSR's (SPI remake) PTO. I have ALWAYS wanted a sandbox to make the right preparations for war (ie Germany increasing the range and number of their U-Boat fleet, Japan attacking and holding Hawaii, etc).

Re: OT- Heart of Iron Game
I love the game! And I'm really looking forward to the MOD Bolt is working on.

Re: OT- Heart of Iron Game
I have heard the game is great, and the patch really helped some of the issues that reviewers pasted it on. It is gratifying to see others who like the game. Now if only I could find it in a store around here. (I want to play Cuba. )

Re: OT- Heart of Iron Game
I see it is done by the creators of Europa Universalis....does it have a specific cut off year like EU did? or can you play it ad infinitum if you want?

Re: OT- Heart of Iron Game
My copy is in route to me now, I am pretty excited about it. I just started playing EU2 recently (from same designer), does anyone else? I am sorely in need of combat/diplomatic advice --if HoI is anywhere as complex as EU2 I may have to quit my RL job just to be competent in both games. Of course, it only took me about a year to figure out SE4 (if you use the word competent REALLY loosely!) There just doesn't seem to be as much time as there used to be on the weekends anymore...

Re: OT- Heart of Iron Game
HoI covers the years 1936-48 if I recall correctly.
