Default Build Queue Storage

I've not found where the build queues are saved when using the Fill Build Queue option in the Planetary Construction window.

It would be nice to prepare these ahead of time in an external file since they tend to get lost when you start a new game.

I'd love to be able to do that with Designs as well because sometimes (especially if you push the wrong button [ ]) they get lost as well.

Thanks.

AFAIK there is no external file for there. You have to make them new every game. But I may be mistaken.

Aren't they saved when you save your empire file in-game?

Hmm, I don't believe so, I'll go test it out right now. I'll post results...

Ok, it only took less then 2 minutes but yes it does save them with your empire. I didn't realize it did. That's pretty nifty though.

So there you go Elowan that's one way to save those Build Q's... But it only works if you use same EMP file. But if you edit the EMP file every game you play that's no big deal. So there ya go. Hope ya got it figured out.

The ship designs can be saved. there is an option for that in the save game area of the interface.
The planetary build queues however; AFAIK cannot be saved. It must be created every game. I agree that for certain planets an option to load in a pre-set list would be nice.

The problem with saving build-queues outside of EMP files is that ship design names are arbitrary, dependent on the paticular game you are playing. Even if you save the designs, too, there's no way to match up the design names once the two lists (ship designs and build queues) are seperated out from the EMP file, so both are only saved in the EMP file.

I don't have a real problem with the ship queue - it was the build facility build queue I had in mind.

As to the ship build queue, destroyers are destroyers, etc ne ce pas?

But you don't build a 'destroyer' you build a 'warhawk' class destroyer. And that's what the game cannot remember without the actual designs for reference.
