Allegiance Subverter and Computer Virus Qs
I am unsure of certain aspects of these things. Any help would be appreciated.
1) If a ship has both a bridge an an aux bridge, does that affect the chance of an allegiance subverter working?
2) If a ship has a MC and an aux bridge (but NOT the bridge+crew+support mpdules), does it affect the results of a computer virus attack?
3) If a ship has both a bridge+crew+support AND a MC, does an Allegiance Subverter attack on one combat turn (at long range) THEN (later on the same combat turn, in a later combat turn, or in a later battle) Virus attack combine effects? That is, if a ship has both MC and crew, does the attack succeed ONLY if the same ship hits the target on the same turn with both?
4) If a ship gets hit first by the Virus and THEN by the Allegiance Subverter (as above only in #3 order reversed), is it the same as the answer to #3? That is, does the order of striking the double-crewed target with the two weapons make a difference?
Thanx!

Re: Allegiance Subverter and Computer Virus Qs
#2:
Not really. Each round, look at what your ship has left. It dosen't matter how it got that way, just the fact that you have no MC, no LS no CQ, means you get 1/8th movement. Having no control components whatsoever means 1/16th movement.
So, having/not having the Aux con in that situation would only make a difference for ships with 16 movement points or more in combat.
#3, & #4:
The A.S. effect does not hang around. If there is an MC intact at the time it hits, it does zilch. End of story. Any player will put the CV first, just to make sure the MC is destroyed before the A.S. tries its luck.

Re: Allegiance Subverter and Computer Virus Qs
Since we are on this topic:
Can the effects of losing control components be modified? And where exactly are the effects of loss of control documented? I didn't see it in the manuals.

Re: Allegiance Subverter and Computer Virus Qs
no bridge = 1/2 movement outside combat.
no bridge or aux con = 1/2 movement inside combat
no lifesupport = 1/4 movement
no crew quarters = 1/2 movement.
HAVING a MC = having bridge/LS/CQ.
Note that a baseship with one bridge, one LS and one CQ remaining still moves at normal speed, even though it seems to be down to 20% of its crew.
Note also that if a ship requires zero lifesupport/crew quarters, you will still suffer the penalty of having no LS/CQ.
I know of no way to modify the penalties.
One trick that I have used is to give lifesupport and crew quarters abilities to other components.
One of the P&N racial traits gives "ships require 1 fewer lifesupport and crew quarters".
I do that by adding lifesupport and crew quarters abilities to the bridge component.
