Default Efficient Explore Strategy - early warning system

Its an idea i had recently and it works pretty fine on every stage of the game.
Im pretty sure that someone thought about it already, but still, you cant be sure.
How does your typical scout look?
A small escort or a frigate with supplies, later a cloak, perharps a scanner and a planetary napalm.
I designed larger (LC) scout with few supplies, but with lots of cargo and a sat launcher. Then i built some realy cheap sats. Loaded them on the ship.
Now once i pass in a system i put a sat there. Better if i have a storm that could cover it.
Works great. Best as early warning to incoming enemy... you'll never send a whole fleet enroute to the enemy to wipe out a single sat would you...

I would if it's on the way to my enemies system. Knock out the recon sattelites and then back track and come at them from a different route, just to make them wonder where I am. By the time they realize my fleet isn't coming the way they thought, it's a system or two away, but which direction?

Definelty though a sat in a storm is nice. Also a sat in the middle of a minefield can be a nasty suprise for the enemy wanting to take it out.

Better yet: a minefield without the satellite! You may not know what is coming, but you certainly know when it is not coming anymore.

Its good to put stealth armor on the spy satellites, that way in the early stages - you are not discovered easily because of your pickets.
