Default Has any one tried just a Star Trek game?

I am curious on this matter. Understandably so since most of the Star Trek sets have been out for a while now. Has any one used them exlusively in a game yet?

If yes, how did they do (GOLD) or pre-gold? I have never finished a game where I used them exclusively. Come to think of it, I have never finished a game of SEIV ever.

Every time I try, a new patch comes out, I loose interest, or I have the run of the galaxy by turn 400. Why go on?

If you use the Star Trek races, which is your favorite? Which one do you dislike the most and why?

As I said, I am just curious.

I did try a game under Version 1.49. Used for Geo's voyager scenario
"If yes, how did they do (GOLD) or pre-gold?"
Version 1.49. They are very easy to role-play, never went for all out rule th galaxy

My favorite race is the Borg, don't care for the Dreadnought pic. The speech files are great.
My least favorite are the Romulans, great looking shipset. but in one game under the TDM modpack they attacked me with a fleet of wave-motion armed Frigates. Not much of a challenge to say the least!
I have yet to play against a trek race under Gold, have added the races but never started a game since I have.
They do add much flavor to the game, and I can't see having a sci-Fi game without the star Trek theme

As I said, I am just curious.

I have, and it's quite fun. My favorite race is the Federation, just because they seem to be better balanced IMHO. Least favorite is probably the ferengi, they are pushovers!

oh, btw It was in Gold

Been a while since i did. Gederation, Ferengi, Klingons and Cardassians. It was fun, while not a Trekkie, I am a sci-fi fan, so nice to play them. I too liked the Federation, simply a nice shipset.

Seems to be that you're the kind of player that like to play games with 255 systems and only against the AI!
Try some multiplayer games, and you will be forced to play until the end or lose!

I have played several Trek games against the AI and always was funny. I felt myself very well, glassing the AI planets, playing as the good guys of the Federation!

Why you don't organize a multiplayer game in PBW with Trek Races? I would glad to play!

Although upcoming exams have prevented me from playing Gold, I'll tell you what I think of the non-Gold Versions...
First of all, I love the work done on this stuff. I would like to see alternate pics too but I'm sure I'll manage without them.
As for the races, the Klingons are the top race hands down. They ALWAYS are in the lead when I meet up with them. I have played scores of "Trek" games and constantly see them dominating the galaxy. Second to them is usually the Federation, although in games with "other" mod races the Feds normally get stomped. Anyway, keep the Trek stuff coming, it is great!!! I'll let you know what I think of the Gold Versions in a month or so...

Fyron is an unknown quantity at this point

MB, that is a great idea! I think I will organize one myself. As to who gets to be what race, that will be first-come, first-serve.

Here are the races that will be involved (not necessarily in this order):

Species 8472
The Borg
The Breen
Cardassian Union
Dominion Empire
Federation STNG
Ferengi Alliance
Klingon Empire
Romulan Star Empire
Son'a Command

So, we will need 10 players. I would prefer to play as the Klingons, Cardassians or Romulans, but it doesn't really matter to me. So, who is interested in playing, and which race would you want to be? Also, this will be a Gold game.

Imperator Fyron, you set it up, I'd love to play. I would want the Dominion though.
