Default Para Mortor vs Mortor

Okay, I have a question about Para Mortor vs Mortor unit types. With the Para Mortor unit, it seems that the mortor, regardless of caliber, end up as direct fire weapons verse being indirect fire, this seems to be not something that makes sense.

Now, if I buy a regular mortor unit and use it with the airborne, I get the indirect fire of the unit type, but the flip side being either the unit as a whole takes damage aka casualties, or in the case of mortors bigger than 81mm/82mm end up dropping as tubes and crew as separate units.

So the question is this, are Para Mortor unit types suppose to be direct fire or indirect fire units?

Para mortar is a direct fire support weapon only.

If you want indirect fire, then buy regular mortars.
