1) Well......That is why we tell you what the terrain is when you mouse over a hex. Its the same thing that would happen if you had a beach assault and didn't load a unit into a transport barge. Previous to this release water was water....deep and shallow looked the same because it was the same and all the same caveats applied when deploying units around water. Unfortunately deep water close to shore in small bodies of water does not show the new deep water wave pattern but other than that nothing has changed so you aren't finding anything new or particularly surprising. This kind of thing happens from time to time depending on how the water is placed.... WE added the ability to wade though shallow water and coded the game maps to produce more of it but you need to be careful deploying around it but it's generally a rare occurrence
2) The wrong sound F/X was assigned to that from what I can see when it was changed from being a Type 91 So-Mo that had a MG and three rifles assigned ...that was V9 in 2016. I have now corrected that in the master OOB and if you want to change yours you can using this as guide but you will only hear all three if you have preferences animation level set to full on but if you do you will hear all three firing instead of the rifle sound and it will take effect when you start that game again
