Default Scenario editor TO&E modification

If I "buy" a unit and delete elements from it in the scenario editor to match a less than 100% deployment, am I correct that it would not prevent the scenario working for other players whom downloads it?

The units included/excluded in a formation are totally independent of the OOB. But each unit in the scenario has to match a unit in the OOB or you get a generic unit icon with no stats. Also if the scenario unit is say a tank and the matching OOB unit is say infantry you can get some weird results.

What I have done so far is bought an extra sniper, then cross attached all the sub units I did not need/had to eliminate to get the feel of the historical deployment then deleted the sniper unit taking the sub units with it.
I have changed a helicopter into an AC-130H and except for the helicopter noise when it moves it simulates the real action much better than the air-support version.
No problems so far in my play testing.
