UK v Germany after June 1940
After many tries it seems that no matter if one does not set desert, if you do a UK v Germany Game after June 1940,, until sometime in mid 1941 or so, all the UK vehicles, at least, come up in desert camo, even if ones battle is set in Europe.
I realise this is, more or less historical, but is it deliberate?
So say for example you want a battle in UK or Europe in September 1940 you can only do so with desert camo vehicles...
Start out in a scenario in June 1940 and then try to add units that did not exist in June but did in September and, again the same thing, any tanks, etc, even if one sets the scenario to Summer and pick a European place for the battle come up in desert camo...?

I will admit that a summer map should in theory place the "summer" Icon set on the map when the date is set to summer months as it does with MBT but we have the code in SPWW2 set up to produce the correct historical battle locations and that generates the Icon set. It's been like this for a decade +......closer to a decade and a half and it's never been an issue until today.
AFAIK in this case it had to be done in this way to ensure historical generated battles and campaigns produce "historical" locations with the appropriate Icon set but Andy would know more about that

Re: UK v Germany after June 1940
If you set up a random UK/GER battle in between the historical dates of Dunkirk and the meeting of the Afrika corps, the game clock gets automatically advanced to the desert. Because that is historically what happened as Don says.
If it did not do this then we would be getting complaints from players who got some random "Europe" battle locations in the gap time, if they selected some date in between Dunkirk and El Aghelia/western desert in 2/41.

I understand what you say, but why does this happen in the Editor when one is trying to make a scenario?

Re: UK v Germany after June 1940
There is one game clock. Germany v UK has no battles between Dunkirk and the desert so there are no batlocs available in that period. So the game clock will be automatically advanced to a period where they did actually fight.
