Default How does the cost calculator work?

It's amazing how well it is able to keep the game balanced. I would be very interested in knowing its underlying formula/algorithm. Does anyone have any idea?

It was originally based off a spreadsheet that one of our playtesters put together, rewritten as C code.

Now it's rather more advanced, but its based on giving a value for things (weapon value + hull value) and then all is divided down by a common factor to give values that fit into an integer.

It is not a simple
- radio = 10 points
- crew = 2 points
total = 12 points

list that you would see in a typical set of tabletop wargames rules
