dual game installation question

I bought and installed SPMBT v.6 a few months back. Since that time I've created a number of OOB, scenario and map changes that I want to retain on this particular installation. I would like to make an added v.6 installation so that I can upgrade the new installation to v.7. Can somebody on the forum give me a pretty detailed explanation as to how I go about this? Two SPMBT game installs on the same computer. Thanks!
