I think there is an error with the range finder it should be a laser.

From a quick look could not find any refrence to it being downgraded from the 69 though can confirm improved fire control.

Some "fire support" for John not that he needs it. Very good site out of the U.K. on Chinese Defense issues. Has LRF data at bottom of article. The TYPE 69-III and TYPE-79 are the same tank.
