Repair
I am playing a game at the moment and the damn repair option does not seem to be working. Space yards and repair ships both do not work.

What exactly is happening?
Some hints/comments:
a) you have to wait till the end of your turn, before repairs happen.
b) you CANNOT repair tech you have not researched (applies to captured ships)
c) one ship will complete repairs before the next one is started.
d) multiple repair components pool resources and all work on one ship, until done as in (c)
e) cloaks interfere with spaceyard abilities
f) emergency propulsion & supply pods REQUIRE a space yard to replace that component.

Make sure that you actually have items in you repair priorities list. Click on the icon that looks like a crown and then select the "repair priorities" tab. After you do that, make sure there are items in the "group repair priorities" section. (you will know it when you see it)

IIRC in the homecoming scenario for P&N i was able to repair parts of ships that i had captured and were way aboveme in tech. I remember because i was able to analyze them after mostly repaired and get a ton of tech from them. The parts that were damaged were parts taht i need for tech so itsnot like i repaired stuff i didn'ta nylze. but that may have changed.

Well, I tried some stuff in v1.49, and I learned:
1) You can't be given a (racial) tech that you don't have the prerequisite tech area for, even if you could eventually have gotten the tech.
Things I confirmed:
1) Repairs do not happen to components you haven't researched the tech for.
2) If you have one requisite tech, but not the others, you still can't repair it.
3) When you analyse you only get the tech from intact components.
Things to consider in the homecoming scenario:
- Your race has access to ALL racial techs (7500 racial points).
- There are a lot of crossover technologies in the mod: analysing one component can often get you more than one tech levelup.
- Multiple components use the same techs: just because the enemy's shard cannon is destroyed, dosen't mean you can't get the SC tech from the HEM beams.
