Default Cataclysm 0.93 - Have your nation defined by magic sites



This mod has existed for a while already on the other forums and we're playing a multiplayer game with a slightly older version, but I figured out I might as well post it here too:

Bored of the same old nations and maybe even of the mod nations? Want to see crazy combinations of pretenders, units and mages like Van-Jaguar-Ghoul Guardian army supported by High Seraphs, Anointed of Rhuax thugs and Nornas and led by your pretender, a Void Lord? Cataclysm might be for you! (Though you'd have to conquer a lot or get really lucky to get all of that) What it has is:

- 14 nations, all exactly the same apart from name and flag with access to some basic troops, a H1 priest and a 1? mage.
- 199 custom level 0 (visible without sitesearch) magic sites with recruitable units in every single one of them.

Nations are added for EA. This mod does not conflict with CBM 1.92, but will conflict with most nation mods due to the huge amount of siteslots used. Doesn't matter though since you should not play Cataclysm with any other nations than the supplied ones.

What's new with 0.92?
Most of the sites giving amphibious troops can now appear underwater along with a few new sites that appear either underwater only or underwater and shore only.

Also as an expirimental choice every single site in the mod is now #rarity 0, meaning that in theory even the most powerful mages are as common as the rarer ones. In practice this should mostly mean that the chance to get at least one powerful mage is more equal for every player unlike it is now.

What's new with 0.93?
Everything except non-mage commander are cap only. Moar sites.

Get it from here: I personally won't link to Dominions 3 content made by me any more and I hope no-one else will either (old links are fine, whatever). You should be able to find them or most of them by asking on IRC or googling the other forums

Just saw this. I heard it mentioned in the IRC channel but I had not paid any attention to it. This sounds like a cool idea! Thanks. I'll give it a try.
