Return of the Psychotic Pickled Pagan Priests
I just posted the newest Version of the Zorians in the files section. I would like any comments on them that any one may have.
(Just as a warning, some people may find them offensive)

Just downloaded! Loved this race since it's first incarnation ages ago. Definitly add spice to any se4 game

Re: Return of the Psychotic Pickled Pagan Priests
Atraikius,
I am currently using them in a test game for a new AI that am writing. The Zorians are looking pretty good so far . I just noticed something with the designs, though. When scatter armor comes available, there is not enough room left for some components such as ECM, Quantum Reactors and so on. Could you set the "armor spaces per one" to zero and use armor as a misc. ability somewhere down the line after all the "important" stuff has been added, or would that screw up your designs at some other point? Just an idea.

Re: Return of the Psychotic Pickled Pagan Priests
Try something like:
Misc Ability 99 Name := Armor
Misc Ability 99 Spaces Per One := 1
Where 99 is the Last misc ability on the ship.
That way, it fills in all of the critical components specified above, then maxes out on armor. (I think)

Re: Return of the Psychotic Pickled Pagan Priests
Rollo - Have you seen them with ships using scattering armor, or was that just when they do get it that it will take up the space. They shouldn't be researching armor 4 until much later in the game, and the larger ships should be placing the quantum reactors, holy talisman, and ECM as 'Must Have' components.

Re: Return of the Psychotic Pickled Pagan Priests
Atraikius,
oops, I didn't mention that it was a full-tech game, did I? I was testing a new AI for the Cue Cappa that I have been writing and thought I might as well put the Zorians in and check them out.
Anyway, the BB (1st rate class) uses scatter armor as well as the BA (Cardinal class) and they have no room for other stuff except PDC. They do have Quantum Reactors, but not ECM as "must have". Smaller classes (BC) also use scatter armor and do not have room for PDC or QR.
Even if the AI doesn't research armor4 until the late game, it might still be a good idea to add armor as a misc. ability. Otherwise it might screw up your designs in the mid-game, if they get armor4 some other way (ruin, gift, trade). I have seen this on one of the TDM races (don't remember which one) as well. They found armor4 in a ruin and really screwed up the designs. I reported that to the author and I believe it is fixed now. "Unwanted" tech and full-tech is something you have to keep in mind when making the designs, IMHO. Using armor as a misc. ability after the most important components have been added, should take care of that. If you use nothing else to "fill up" your designs (I like to do that with either supplies or PDC), you could even put armor Last in the list just like S_J suggested.
Whew, sorry about the lengthy post .

I have heard about the Zorians, but have never seen them in action, yet. I'll check out this new Version ASAP .

Yeah, I never play them either. I am not sure how popular they are. I always test my races for full-tech, though. If nothing else, it's a good way of testing the late game designs without having to run 100+ turns.
