Globals
Can 1 castor cast more than 1 global.
Say you wanted to cast Mother Oak and then Gift of Health.
Or any 2 globals that they have paths for?

Re: Globals
All eggs in one basket. An arrow can suddenly appear from the sky and take out both globals.

Re: Globals
Pretenders do this all the time. They might have the pathing for more than one spell in their research path... If you were hardcore enchantment research, you might aim to get stellar focus, haunted forest, wrath of the sea (or thetis blessing), and gift of nature's bounty, merely as a side effect of going for arcane nexus.

Re: Globals
Not all pretenders are going to be equally worried about arrows falling from the sky or whatever. A Monolith or Statue will happily eat many an arrow.

But needs to have necessary levels at the time of generation. While even Rainbow isn't killed so easily in his Dominion - and can use buffing/forge bonus items...
Aside from Pretenders, Elemental Royalty, high demons and Coatles can survive arrows and assassination attempts quite easily while being able to cast globals. Also Agarthans, all giants, probably Lanka, Patala & Kailasa. Maybe Shinuyama Bakemono Sorcerers and Jomon sea dragon princes. Sometimes Vans and Sauromatia Witch Kings - but here a better bet would be to use Twiceborn first...

Actually, units only regain hp once very turn. That means that if a durable unit is hit by a large number of attack spells it might succumb to one of the later ones. That's part of the reason why strong alpha strikes are so powerful - ten spells on one province are more dangerous than the same spells cast over two turns, be the target regular commanders or the Cyclops of doom.
If you are a nation with easy access to, for example, seeking arrows this can be a valid way to counter highly mobile and hard to get to get foes like, for instance, the Prince of Death - send a dozen seeking arrows against him when he's alone and the enemy is suddenly without a god. Bonus points if you conspire with an ally to hit the common foe simultaneously.

Re: Globals
And by the time rainbow pretenders are casting globals they tend to be safely ensconced in castles well inside their own dominion with bodyguards and surrounded by other commanders and mages so they're hard to target. And domed a little later on.
Rainbows have plenty to do in the lab. After the initial site searching that's what they're for.
Sure it's all your eggs in one basket, but it's a tough well protected basket. It's also the only basket you can design to cast the globals you want cast. If you've got multiple mages with the same path levels, sure use different ones for added security, but if not don't worry about it.

Also, to worry even less, the mages who did cast globals should also be "ensconced in castles with bodyguards and surrounded by other commanders and mages" - and preferably domed. Also, they should get some protection items for added security. Against seeking arrows these should be something that provides either missile deflection or luck.
By the way - yes, multiple arrows can overcome both hit points and magical wards. But every bit helps and when opponent needs 2+ arrows to kill your commander any protection doubles in efficiency, while multiple such commanders in the province become very hard to kill. It becomes cheaper just to Dispel this global.
