Sub found.
Hello, I'm posting for the game Sharivar. We're on turn 58 and the world is at war. My nation is jomon, which I have quite honestly played very poorly, despite having had the most research for most of the game... which I still do. It's still a fairly solid position, having lost no core territories as of yet, but it is not really in the same league as meglobob's pan, dimaz's gath, or wraithlord's ermor. I still have a good amount of gems, thugs, and some golem SCs to play with so it's not all bad :P
If you're interested contact me and I'll let you see turn files, explain what's going on etc.

Re: Permanent sub needed
I'm not sure I'm interested. I respect your right to try and step out of a game.
But, as a 2 player lover, I want you to know that everyone loses and has trouble in some games. Sometimes you lose because of darkvines, or maybe your opponent got sages in his second province ("Damn I have no idea how his research is so high.") You can't expect to expand as fast as trampler nations.
Here you are, on turn 58, and it looks like Pan is the victor unless there is some very strong reasons why his power is limited (an alliance), it looks like he may soon win. From the stats there seems to be reason to doubt Gaths power... and Pan is very powerful late game, so I think that if its been well played with the research, similar gem prodcution and ridiculously breathtaking income...
Anyway, if you're just quitting because you've lost, I think that that is silly. You can either conspire with one of the biggies for you to get much bigger... then hopefully be a late contender... Or assault. I love to assault. I assualt as I die. I assualt sometimes because I've become bored with simply growing strength. I am a 2 player game lover and I am ridiculously aggressive. I reccomend it, set the world on fire. No one will blame you.

Re: Permanent sub needed
Bigdaddy - if you read the thread, then you would know that me and ermor have been allied or NAPed since basically the beginning of the game. I am not abandoning the game for losing or any such nonsense. If I were to do that, it would have been on the eve of the battle that saw benjaminite slingers slaughter a fully equipped golem in melee. Now that was depressing. In actuality, I am abandoning this game because I need to drop all of my dominions games. This particular game could easily last 40 more turns, and with the hosting interval as it is that could take months. I don't have the time to keep playing anymore, so I need to leave. Simple as that.
Second, though pan is very powerful, unless he is much more powerful than what I've seen from him indicates, I believe either gath or ermor could defeat him by themself. Gath in particular has insane amounts of artifacts, and pan has only recently become as powerful as they are.
Third, before you decide to direct incredibly insulting and uncalled for posts at people, please make sure that you have the remotest idea what you are talking about.
Fourth, I would love to see you try to win this game, lol.
Edit: And for the record, me and pan expanded at roughly the same rate, with me ending up just a bit bigger after the end of the initial expansion.

Re: Permanent sub needed
I didn't mean to be insulting! I meant to inspire.
I'm not sure what was insulting, I took the lead from your post. You said you were outclassed. I said I respect your right to quit by finding a sub! You pretty much conceded defeat.
And Pans income is ridiculous, whoever is against really should find a way to stop or damage that. I assume that that is GoH.
Actually, I think it's probably just insulting because people playing MP really become attached to a game they've played every day for months. Well, I've lost a ton of time, because I play blitz 2 player.
There's other reason that snowball into a victory, such as a huge province at the begining of the game that only had 1 elephant and slingers! All that stuff is random. You can be well matched and still 'lose' not just because you're 'outclassed.' It might have just been that 3rd mountain province next to Pan's cap.
The word 'silly' is not very strong.
I don't think I'm interested, though, because I already have 2 games... and I think that that might be enough.
I'm sorry you have to stop MP gaming, especially if you enjoy it. You seem really invovled in this game. One wonders why if you really are that out of time. But that's really for you to decide. I've seen people drive themselves crazy trying to give up stuff only to find themselves unhappy.
Whatever it is you've got to make you busy, good luck with it. I meant no insult. And if you feel overly burdened, see it you can find someone to play 2player blitz game.

Re: Permanent sub needed
Trust me, I think just about anyone who put up a thread looking for a sub would have been insulted if you popped into their thread and said that.
Currently I spend probably about 6 hours a day on purely dominions-related activities, which is just too much. I need time to do other things, so I am quitting my dominions games for a while. Some things don't require too much effort... like administrating games. You just need to pay attention to emails and such. I'll keep doing things like that, but I need to get other things in my life in order.

Re: Permanent sub needed
Normally, I don't come off so much insulting as condescending, which I don't mean either. Normally, people who seem condescending are used to leading and/or would like their opinions appreciated or understood, or they need to feel their input is valued.
Well, I wouldn't have found it insulting.
I'm pretty good at these things, but often come off as callous when guess people out.
You're self concious about being 'a quitter' or seen as one. Even if I don't see you that way. You don't seem overly concerned about losing the game, but I could be wrong about that too, but you SAID that in the first post.
Most people go through a realignment in their life from time to time, and their time needs changed. People also change video games, for that matter, and there supposed to be a new FF mmo for casual gamers coming out, I might add. Anyway, I think most people who needed to bow out of a game like this would feel a little self concious about being seen as a quitter. I was right up front, I RESPECT YOUR RIGHT TO STOP PLAYING. Not as in I don't agree with you, or anything like that. I have no idea why you need more time, or maybe you just got into too many games. It doesn't matter. Most people who play long enough at whatever, will have to quit from time to time.
Anyway, if you need to quit because of time constraints don't talk about how your nation is losing. Actually, I don't care, just don't get ticked at me for assuming you don't have time to play a loser. Actually, even that I don't care deeply about. But, obviously, I'm human, so I'd prefer you not think ill of me, when I was trying to be nice and help you get some enjoyment out for something you clearly love.
Really, some people are troll. Often its people who are... cynical that are trolls, and if you work at it, you can see their humor. Some people bumble into problems (maybe I did), and sometimes people are don't actually want to be understood, especially online, were they might want to be more incognito than it really feels in the end.
Good luck.

Re: Permanent sub needed
tried to follow your weird Psychology there BigDaddy but I fell short of it... however I too found your immediate reply very offensive towards the OP, rdonj in this case, and I still have no idea why you basically accused him of being a quitter, somebody who gives up easily and all those things... it was very uncalled for and I still don't get it, but you make it even worst... you're arguing over your original post, which only makes you seem like more of an *** hole(for a lack of a better word to describe this, no offense intended) than your first post here made you seem already. now, to go with your weird Psychology: you need to learn how to admit your mistakes and climb down from tall trees you needlessly climbed before.

This is just how I roll. I have a habit of being brutally honest when I post sub threads... either for myself or for others. And I have posted many for people in games I've administered. I don't want to spoon feed someone this picture of some sort of jomonese paradise when it's clear that it's not the case. However there are also things that I can't say in public that make the position even more or less interesting... also quite typical.

I've never seen anything like this. I've played a lot of games, and I've played this game a lot of times. BUT, when you play this game MP and likely with full diplomacy, its drama city. Hey, if I wanna quit, I will quit. I'll have enough respect to ask for longer turn or a sub, but I'm not going to hell because I quit a GAME.
Whew...
I asked if anyone wated to play a no-diplo game, no one seemed particularly interested.
I tell you what, if I were to run short on time, I'd look for a sub on the game I was doing the worst on and keep the winners! And if I couldn't find one I prolly take half *** turns or try and change the game by suiciding bombing someone... imagine if, gasp, I attacked my own alliance member! Would I be forever disowned by this community with some members who fail to see they take the game too seriously.
How long have you been playing that game that it seems like quitting is a crime and that the people reading this thread would be APALLED beyond belief at my comment...
Sorry.
A break does seem to be in order.
