Netbook Dom 3 (max resolution 1024x600)?
Does anyone run Dom 3 reliably on a netbook. I've got a Samsung NC10 and wondering if it will run reasonably.

I don't run on a netbook, but there's a new update on the patch status page that might apply to you:
Dominions 3 progress
17th july 2009
* New resolution 1024*600 (for netbooks).

Thanks man. It looks like I'll have to wait for the next cumulative patch then?

Re: Netbook Dom 3 (max resolution 1024x600)?
I run it on a netbook often, but I never have any issues with the resolution. The graphics are a bit stretched from side to side, but all the menus and everything shows up on the screen fine. For reference, I have run it on an Acer One under Windows XP, Windows 7, Ubuntu and Mandriva.

Re: Netbook Dom 3 (max resolution 1024x600)?
I run D3 on an Eee PC 900 and am happy with the performance. Note that aside from testing expansion strategies I only play MP so I'm not sure how it would do hosting a game in the late stages. But I've played through turn 30 several times and not had problems with hosting.
Surprisingly, the battle replays also work fine and I have replayed some decent size battles from my MP games.
I'm quite happy about the 1024x600 resolution in the next patch but Foodstamp is right that even now it works ok with the graphics stretched. Having said that, you may be able to get around this. Asus has a utility that simulates 800x600, etc, by leaving the sides of the screen black. The way I have this set, the screen changes to this setting when I launch D3 and reverts to 1024x600 once I leave the game or Alt-Tab to the desktop. Perhaps there's a similar utility on your Samsung.

It gets so awfully stretched that I run dom3 in window on my netbook. About 800x600 only though.
I'll love 1024x600 after the patch.

Re: Netbook Dom 3 (max resolution 1024x600)?
I too use Dom (both 2 and 3) in my hacked Asus eee 701 (overclocked/upgraded ram/hacked video drivers) without any problems in 800x600 either stretched or with some vertical rollover... the only gripe is the turn processing time, htat can be cumbersome even in my hacked system...
