Default Expanding core in campaign question

I searched for this and didn't find an answer. If I expand the core size via adding troops with my bonus points, will the computer field a correspondingly larger force? Or are my victory points an edge over the computer in subsequent campaign battles? I'm curious, because I really prefer to fight smaller engagements of roughly 500 points. If I add another tank company and infantry company after a decisive victory with (let's say) 500 extra points by expanding my core, am I going to face another 500 (more or less depending on mission type) points of enemy troops? Thanks in advance.

Of course the AI will field a correspondingly larger force. It will do that even if you never buy any support or additional core, since your core's value will go up as their experience grows.

AI points = ((Your core's value) + Any support points you spend) * battle type multiplier

And also, in campaigns - AI Points = AI Points * the INI file multiplier
(If you set the AIAdjustPercent modifier in CamoGame.Ini away from the default 100)

Thanks for the reply. So if I decline to spend my support points, does this also keep the opposing force size down? I ask because I'm trying to play a battle a night, and it definitely helps my social life if I can keep those fights under about 3 hours. "Sorry honey, I can't take you to see Angels and Demons because I'm fighting the Great Patriotic War!" just doesn't get the understanding response I thought it would.

*Whoops, you already answered that second question for me. Thanks again

You have a limit of 200 "core" units. After that all you can do is upgrade them. BUT at 500 points you'll never get close to those numbers...
