Default Any AH ViTP players here?

Hi everyone,

I was just curious if there were any email or OTB AH Victory in the Pacific fans playing WPP and your thoughts on the two games?

I know there's still a healthy email community with 100+ active members--impressive for a game released in 1977. I tried it email but never really warmed to using Vassal as the medium of play.

WPP captures everything I liked about ViTP. Fast but challenging grand sweeping strategic play, cool individual ship counters, and a master piece of a simple ruleset that sums up most of the considerations of the Pacific Theater in at a glance.

I'd love to see this take off with the PBEM crowd.

Old fan of ViTP. Never dipped into doing it by Vassal or Cyberboard, my belief has always been board games should be board games and computer games should be computer games.

Hadn't played it in years but pulled it out recently and forgot how much dice rolling happens.

Be sure to check out Fire in the Sky from MMP. Single session grand strategic PTO game also, with several neat mechanics like how the Japanese player is entirely dependent on his oil points.

By the way, if you weren't already aware L2 is coming out with an updated reprint of ViTP. Haven't seen any new news on it lately though. They already have the reprint of War at Sea out. Been out for a while now.

Hi Krol,

I looked at Fire in the Sky at BGG. it looks very tempting though I'd probably end up playing it solo.

I also liked Pacific Victory by Columbia games, a very nice block game.

Hey, I didn't know the old AH games were being reprinted, you made my day!
