Default Map Size Problem

Playing a long campaign against AI. Map size set in preferences to 200 x 160. Map for new battle is 140 x 120.

This is CD v4.5. Don't recall having a problem with map size in v4.0 but can't be 100% sure, only noticed it during the last battle as the number of units on map is increasing (my Exp = more points for AI = enemy across full width of map).

Flanking impossible!

Any ideas why the preferences setting is ignored?

cheers,

Tim

1) Did you load a custom map - the custom map will override the preferences you set.

2) Did you set the preferences to a new figure before the end of battle for some other battle?. Game uses whatever is currently set in preferences menu AFAIR.

Please report the figure you currently have set in preferences.

Not loaded a custom map ever (ie, not knowingly. I've played various long AI campaigns but always with the Default map setting selected at the campaign generation screen).

Preferences are set to 200 x 160 and were set before the start of this battle.

I experimented with a completely new campaign and got a 200 x 160 map.

So the issue is with changing map size during a campaign, it appears to be stuck on the map size used for previous battles in this campaign. If this is how it is then fine, but it doesn't seem to be what is supposed to happen and contradicts the game guide.

If anyone else has seen the same thing as me, or has successfully changed map size during a long campaign vs AI please contribute to the post.

cheers,

Tim

I have always checked the prefs in between battles as if you have played any other game it takes those map settings. Never heard of it being locked though can adjust to what you like on formation / refit screen before you reach the map screen.
