Question - Mines/engineer groups
when it comes to mines, can they be cleared by engineer/pioneer groups and if so, how? tks
can your units in the scenerios be given a dig in command? I see a hot key "E" listed for the campains types, but not for the scenerios?
tks in advance

Re: Question - Mines/engineer groups
This information might help although it is geared to engineer vehicles;

Re: Question - Mines/engineer groups
Good day
Engineer units INF or Vehicle when moved beside a mine or other obstacles hex will start to remove them during the other sides' turn. BTW they will remove your stuff too, but you can turn that function off. Inf Eng are good generally for all things including blowing bridges (Satchel Charges). Reg INF will clear stuff too but very slowly. Suppression or use for other jobs will effect how they clear as well.
(E) Hot Key---In scenarios if you are set up to defend your troops will dig in or you can build trenches. Trenches also make fair AT Ditches but they do work both ways. I'll let the link provided tell you of Engineer Vehicles.
Hope this helps.

Re: Question - Mines/engineer groups
I think the "dig in" question was related to situations during play and the answer is no. You cannot dig in during a game. You either start that was or not

Re: Question - Mines/engineer groups
BTW:
Engineer/Pioneer can clean mines from adjacent hex but they work faster if they are IN the mine field. Reg INF only clear mines if they are in the mine field.

Re: Question - Mines/engineer groups
Also, the more units you have in the hex the faster the mines are cleared. This is both good and bad because the enemy can tell when you're clearing mine (probably from all of the cussing) and can target the area for incoming explosive mail. So if you don't want your engineers to be caught in an explosive welcome you have to clear them fast, but if they're stacked, you're lible to lose more of them when it starts to pour HE.
