Random Events
Hi all )
Had the game a while but just joined, have been busy in sp, test mods and devouring all the great information on the boards (thankyou!)
Is there a list of random events and what triggers them anywhere?
More specifically im interested in the events that cause units to attack or join you and especially what the unit numbers involved are.
A second question from a few threads i read recently is about trample, do units trample everything smaller than their size, or say 2 smaller than their size? (i.e can size 6 trample size 5, or size 4 and below etc...)
Thanks in advance for any help !

Re: Random Events
Hi Blaize!
I don't know about random events.
You can find units' numbers by looking at their descriptions and then pressing Shift+I.
A size 6 can indeed trample a size 5, although it'll do less damage than it would to a size 2 (details in the manual I think).

Re: Random Events
I don't think comparative size affects trampling damage. Size 6 trampler deals just as much damage to size 2 and size 5. That's also what the manual says.
Trampling bigger units will consume more APs, so size 6 trampler can't trample as many size 4 giants as it can size 2 humans.

Re: Random Events
I'm almost sure the damage was something like (8 + 2 * size difference). Maybe I've got confused though.

Re: Random Events
On pg. 57, the manual says 8 + 2* Size with no indication whether this is relative or absolute size. But, one of the in-game hints says:
Quote:
Trampling units do higher damage the more sizes higher they are than their target.
|
So, Size is probably relative size.

Re: Random Events
Hmm, interesting.
I tested it out (long time ago) with, hmm, I think it was Elephants against Cave Drakes. The Cave Drakes got througouhly trashed. They are size 4, prot 18 and have lots of hp. If trample only dealt 12 damage to them, they shouldn't have died nearly as quickly as they did. 20 damage, on the other hand, would make elephants deal some damage almost every time, much closer to what I saw.

The most comprehensive list of this comes from Sunray, which is mostly from Dom2.

They trample everything smaller. I was under the impression that this doubles for every point of difference in size, but maybe this is wrong.

Re: Random Events
The manual states that there is a size component to trample damage. However, there was a thread here that seemed to document that despite the manual, size did not seem to matter on the amount of damage done.
