Default Sound not loud enough under Windows Vista

Bump, I have a question, I have the Evil vista system. I just can't get the dang thing to play music with decent volume thru earphones, blue tooth, or any other plug in. I tried updating the driver, nope. I went and looked around on the Internet. But what I found was incomprehensible. Anyone with vista have a fix for this? I use the Conexant High definition Audio system. And Its just plain broke. Any help would be great.

Huh, I have exactly opposite. I have to use 1% volume in system + 1% volume in anything I use, otherwise my headphones are like speakers. And I cannot find any way to get volume lower in Vista!

Huh, wanna trade? What version of drivers do you use for your audio? If I had that problem I would solve it with a rheostat connected to the feed. Maybe If I rolled the drivers back it would fix this problem.

Issue may not be specifically with Vista... I always recommend using a dual_boot or triple_boot environment. Best way for determining if its a software issue or hardware issue.

If all applications have this issue then check for motherboard and BIOS updates or perhaps consider buying a cheap PCI sound card. Hope this helps.

I've had similar problems, Bwaha, and I have yet to come up with a solution.

I'm using Vista but with a different sound card. Some programs are loud enough, but others (like playing a DvD are simply too quiet). I've tried messing with the control panel settings, as well as the mixer you get when double clicking on the Volume icon in the notification area. Everything I've seen has been at maximum level though. Looking for an updated sound driver and/or reinstalling it was my next step, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

During a search for patches I came across this: http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/...8190&SiteID=17

I hope this helps, I looked at it and thought they were speaking a different language. Truly incomprehensible to me.

I've found a solution. Turtle Beach sells a signal amp that goes into an usb port. It costs about 25 bucks. Now I can listen to music, watch videos, etc. I hope this helps those who have a similar problem.
