Help w/Gandalf's server
Me, my bro, and his friend have joined a game on one of these servers, but we would like to add a couple AI players. Is this possible? If I click on one of the nations it assumes that I am trying to join it, so I can't make it AI.

We don't want to be allied against them, we just want them around so the game is a little more populated.

The AIs are allied, you don't need to be. Otherwise start a game with players and waste some turns to set them to AI first.

yeah just start the game with additional player (means the AI will have a decent set up too) and set them AI.. does mean you can't have difficult AI etc I think but I personally prefer AI with regular income but better setup.

The suggestions given are great.
Just a point though...
the "ally" on AIs only stops them from attacking each other. Its not a huge gain. They dont plan together or share items. It makes them abit harder since they dont waste effort trying to take each other out (which smart players can exploit). You can still play seperately against them.
