Throne of Heroes is the culmination of many months of work and testing, and is an update to Worthy Heroes 1.8 for the Middle Era only. The mod adds several new heroes designed by both myself and Burnsaber. I owe all of the graphical work for my Heroes to Amos, and he is properly credited in the readme file. Llamabeast also did work on the Ancient Yeti graphic.
There is an extensive read me file with the download. It shows every hero for every nation, and the source of that hero(whether vanilla and spruced up or created by a player). It also shows in Italics the heroes that are new and not in Wh 1.8. And it also shows any notable new abilities that the new heroes have(battle spells, summons etc).
Because luck needs a bit more reward, and this fact is evidenced by most experienced mp taking 3 order/2misf, Throne of Heroes has tried mightily to make all of the randomly appearing heroes relevant no matter when they appear. A hero does not automatically appear to aid your cause. In fact, in many of my test games, not all heroes appeared even with 3 luck and the game ran to 200 turns.
Also, human heroes tend to be too weak stat wise to be of much use past the early game. To counter this, and make human heroes more competitive and still thematic,
I borrowed from Turin's Skills of the Gladiator that he used in Worthy Heroes. I created Skills of the Champion and Skills of the Weapon Master and these abilities cause afflictions.
These affliction-dealing abilities give the human heroes value beyond the early game. Some new weapons were also created that deal afflictions.
And then there are several fun new heroes. I think many will like Burnsaber's story lines
from the Storm Knight/King Eagle, to three Oceania Heroes. He has others as well. It is my hope that some will enjoy the ferocious Ancient Yeti and cringe at the ruthlessness of the Prince of Flames.
Despite comprehensive personal testing, I am sure the mod contains some errors. All suggestions and comments are welcome. Enjoy!
