Unofficial Mod Manual - Amos Version
The feedback I received for the old UORMM manuals for patches 3.15 and 3.17 gave me the impression that most modders preferred them over the old version. However, Amos, one of our most prolific modders preferred the old manual due to the way he uses it. This version of the manual was made ensure that we don't lose his contributions to the community or needlessly make modding more difficult for him and others who share his preferences.
This unofficial version of the Dominions 3 modding manual has the advanced monster modding section reverted to the old, alphabetical organization. Note that the old, alphabetical organization applies ONLY to Chapter 7, Monster Modding, Advanced.
All other sections are the same as in the new official, categorized manual. Including basic monster modding, which has far less commands than the advanced section. There will be no return to the old organization for the other sections because it would entail much useless extra work for me and these sections are mostly short enough to fit in one or two pages and improve significantly with the categorization.
This manual will most likely be updated with new patches, but it will always take a backseat to the official, categorized version and thus new updates will happen when they will, with no promises on timetables.
Feedback on this manual version should stay in this thread. All feedback on the official manuals for modding and mapmaking should go here.

While I won't use this, personally, I appreciate the extra work that went into this.

Yes, very good. Amos makes some of the best, and most original, mods.

Re: Unofficial Mod Manual - Amos Version
Good grief Edi. How many of you are there? Where and how do you find the time? Does Finland operate on a 72 hour day? Do you ever sleep?
The same questions apply to Amos also. I look at the number of Amos mods, with outstanding original sprites to boot, and get humbled. I've been working on my mod for a month and still not done. And I don't even make sprites.
Are you both etheral? Hydras? Something else?
And then factor in KO and JK, who made this game on the side while holding full time jobs. I thought I had tough row to hoe.
Humbled, but still grateful to all everyone.

1) No evil or other twins that I'm aware of, just me.
2) The time sort of comes in bits and pieces, but a couple of hours is plenty to do a lot of stuff. It helps having a helpdesk job where I can be online during work hours.
3) Rumors of time flowing differently in Finland have been greatly exaggerated
4) Sleep... I've heard of it. Six to seven hours a night is usually plenty.

Actually we have your evil twin here in Sweden. He is locked up since he is evil. It is he who has made most of the time consuming work on dominions. He is fed five grains of rice daily, and a carrot on sundays. The carrot takes several minutes to gnaw on so he actually has some spare time.
Fortunately he is evil, so it doesn't matter if we abuse him

So, Edi's evil twin is a Master of the Way from Tien Chi ?
Cooooooool !
Now, I suspect that someone have modded Edi and gave him "No Need to Sleep", instead of "No Need to Eat", and #onebattlespell ”Quickness” (which cast automatically at the start of each day, 'cause each day is a new battle, isn't it ?)

Oh battles can be longer than a day. Don't believe me? Try arguing with my wife.
I kid. You don't want to try that.

Re: Unofficial Mod Manual - Amos Version
Here's a new version of my (fairly) comprehensive spell modding guide.
How can I format it so that it can be incorproated into your manual? I'd think both the full list of existing spells and the rules for spell modding are relevant.
