lance
1)Does units with spear/lance/pike/halbeard have a bonus versus cavalry?(other than repel)
2)unit with longer weapon can hit from more far than short armed units?
3)there is a way to use heavy prot unit with long weapon to hold the enemy for my mage other than guard commander with commnader(hold*5)? is viable or repel wont be enough?

Re: lance
1. No. (But I often wish that they did. )
2. No. The length of the weapon only helps with regards to repel, not to striking distance.
3. Not sure that I understand the question, but I often use heavy infantry in groups of 15 to 20 spread out in front of my magi and archers with hold & attack closest orders to help defend against flanking attacks. Heavy infantry to me is usually high protection and shields, but masses of chaff work just as well and take less resources to produce.

Re: lance
It's usually viable to have rear groups of troops near your mages either on Hold & Attack, or Guard Commander assigned to a melee commander set to Hold a number of turns and then attack. May also want to have them attack Cavalry or Fliers or Large Monsters if you are fighting enemies who try to flank with specific types.

Would be cool if the Pike had repel damage similar to a Lance strike. So the AP of the attacker would get added to the damage as they impale themselves on it.

Re: lance
about the question number 3 i was thinking on something like leonidas vs serse: a small number that block big number thanks to morale and armament and training frar superior and so with dunno 50 mans you could do a wall that block enemys for your mages but they just defend and dont move

Re: lance
The designers didn't like stalemates so no, you can't exactly do that, but the 5-turns on Hold/Guard is the closest and usually works pretty well for what you want.

Re: lance
You can get even closer if you do Guard around a mage. Make sure he's got protection spells up though because if he dies they will attack.

Re: lance
Also you can get a stationary force if you want to, even around a commander set to Attack (as long as they can't fly). If you have enough troops set to Guard, they will engulf that commander, who then cannot move, and none of them will go anywhere.
