Default Casting globals

Do magic path boosters matter (as +5 gems per level above the GE's requirement) when casting GE, or does only caster's "native" magic level matter? In other words - should you put all these rings of wizardry, etc. on your caster before casting global to make it harder to dispel (or to increase chances of you dispelling something), or is it futile?

After searching this forum for a while I was not able to find a definite answer, since different people seem to have different opinion on the subject.

So does anybody know for sure?

When I asked IW a while back they said boosters do matter. And presumably you can take them off after the casting and still get the effect.

boosters matter for being able to cast the spell in the first place, so i think it's natural to assume they count for the bonus too....

i'm expecting a global out of you soon in figment then, corwin

Thanks QM, I guess that settles it.

To Xavier: No, no globals from me in Figment game any time soon Xavier. I had my other game in mind (DangerPudding game), where I took over Fomoria as a sub. Everybody has globals there except by my nation. And judging by the fact that Forge of Ancients keep changing hands every turn, everybody except me is sitting on huge pile of blood stones and clams. Alas, the previous owner of my nation didn't make any gem producing items, but nevertheless I am trying to get enough gems to cast my own global there and pray that it would knock down one of the existing globals.

As for the Figment game - I am going to use all my resources and gem reserves to try to survive for the next 5 turns. I was not kidding about 400 insane demon monkeys (just in the first wave) with double lvl 9 bless coming after me next turn. Casting globals there is the last thing on my mind atm...
