Default Question about \"Life for a Life\"

How does it work?

On paper it looks extremely impressive. Reaches anywhere, never misses,
probably targets the enemy with the highest hit points, thus bypassing
bodyguards and chaff. The damage is armour negating, and no resistance helps.

Am I mistaken to think that this is a way to totally negate enemy non-undead
supercombatants? Does it work on demons?

What about defending against it? Short of killing all enemy slaves on the
first turn, what is to prevent a teleporting blood mage to kill pick and snuff
the biggest creature in your army?

Default Re: Question about \"Life for a Life\"

Well, after that mage teleports in and snuffs out some random big creature (assuming it has less than 40HP), the rest of the army might kill that B3S2 or B3A2 mage.

With 3 slaves you could use a B3S2 and script 'Life for a Life', 'Returning', if you have zero encumberance. Or a B4S2 could do it safely. Or if you're sure you'll own a neighboring province you could even script retreat. But you might not even kill a Troll King depending on the rolls, or an Elephant, etc.

Infernal Prison or Claws of Cocytus is better, because HP does not matter, but then you need B3 plus either A2 or S2 plus either F1 or W1, I think.

Any flier in your army could help defend against this, if set on attack instead of hold and attack. Or an astral mage scripted for paralyze on the first turn, or someone set to cast petrify maybe.

Just thought I'd point out:
LA Abysia gets a new slayer with B2.
Give him one booster for B3.
Cast Life for a Life.

Sorry, I'm tired.
