Carrier Battles - PDC Question

I pretty new to SEIV in general and just started my 1st CB game. Really enjoying it. Pretty much getting my *** kicked as I learn the ropes.

One question on PDC defence; is it possible to manually target missiles in Tactical combat? I'm using using 20MM mounts and kinetic torpedoes. I can get them to work correctly on Auto, but not when I assume control. Am I missing something?

No, your observation is correct. They only work in auto or strategic combat.

You might also be experiencing a problem with not having the right strategy in Auto/strategic combat. Some of the strats don't target missiles, or even fighters. You may have to choose or make a different strat that will take care of the treat. In CB it is the use of specialized ships to fill specific roles.

These guys certainly know what they're talking about

One thing to note is that you should not expect PD ships to be as powerful as in stock. They help reduce damage, but even a giant fleet of PD ships will get pegged by a missile or two every now and then.

Guys, Thanks for the responses. I'm now taking a different approach to battles, using Auto and experimenting with the different ship strategies.
