Default Nametype limit?

I'm helping to put together the Warhammer Chaos race mod and am wanting to give appropriately thematic names to the commanders and demons. However it is quite inappropriate to give a Nurgle like name 'Bilepuss' to a Slaanesh commander who aught to be named like 'Deathcaress', and vice versa. I am looking at having several nametypes, one for each of the four chaos powers. I am also considering having an additional four (somewhat shorter) lists for greater daemons (which aught to have the most impressive names).

The mod guide mentions specifically two numbers for two custom lists, 127 and 128 and then makes rather vague references to using high unlisted numbers to make additional nametables. Am I likely to run into trouble if I make eight or ten such nametables?

Yes. There are now very few nametype slots left. You can overwrite one and it won't cause any fatal errors, but you'll end up with Machakans with Chaos names or whatever.

Thank you Sombre. That should at least allow me a separate namelist for each of the powers. I'll just do without giving the greater daemons and daemon princes special lists.

Edit: Well, it appears 149 is being used (and I assume therefore 146,147 & 148). I added a few names to 149 without using the #clear command and nurgle commanders came up with names not on the list. They were oddly demonesque however. I have no idea which race they were destined for.

I think I will overwrite them anyway. People are mostly going to use these in SP anyway and how often do other race's commander names become apparent anyway?

127,128=free for modders

141=inuit
142=irish
143=irish female
146+ free atm

Panpiper: That's because if they aren't given a name, the game chooses their nametype for you and if they have the demon tag, or demonesque stats, they'll get the demon nametype.

Well, I had put three names into the list. I guess though that there is a minimum number of names required if you want the game to pick one you have provided, three doesn't cut it. In my latest working copy of the Chaos mod however, I have put more than forty names into each of four nametypes and all commanders are being appropriately named without the game resorting to giving them it's own names. It definitely does help with the feel.
