Default Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

In my current game, I found a magic site; I think the name is "Primordial Forest."

The text on the site description says a Nature mage can enter to summon a hama dryad. This is the first time I have encountered a "Enter site to..." consdition that I could use.

I sent a Jaguar Shaman (Nature 1) to the site and set him on "Enter site" orders for the last 2-3 turns. No dryads have appeared. The shaman has kept the order from turn to turn.

Does it take a number of turns before a result is seen? Is there something I'm missing? Does the Nature level of the summoner matter?

Looks like a bug. You should be getting one per turn. Check to see if your mage is currently commanding any.

Dryads are not commanders, so they will not show up on the province screen. Have you clicked on the army setup screen? If you do the dryads should appear on the recruited troops line of the screen.

Thank you both.

I, of course, was only looking at the commander screen. I found my dryads -- now I have to figure out how to use them effectively since they are single province units only.

How does the "single province only" thing work, by the way? I never use the summon spell that summons the dryads, but I feel a single province summon, unless the troop is outstanding or has a 2nd purpose (telestetic animation) is kinda useless.

What happens if you summon a bunch of Hama dryads and lead them to war? I suppose I could try it, but if someone already knows...

Away from home, Dryads lose HP every turn, get afflicted, and die in a few turns. They get better again once you bring them home.

One turn out away from home will not kill them -- they go from 10HP to 6HP. So you could attack a neighboring army. Outside their home province they do also lose their regeneration.

I was severely crippled in one MP game because someone summoned a bunch of dryads to defend their home province. They were a very effective meat shield that prevented my army from getting to a bunch of mages, who proceeded to shower fiery death on my units. The dryads have Awe and are ethereal, so can be last a long time against mediocre troops.

Fun fun fun!
