Default Mirror Match Mod - Brainstorming

For those who crave a more perfect form of game balance, I'm working on a mod that makes the game into a mirror-match - all the nations are identical.

These are the troops that I'm thinking of giving everyone, they're pretty much european troops. As national troops, they will all be somewhat elite, with text that reflects their status as trained members of the national army.

-- units, everywhere --
Skirmisher - Stealth, Short Sword, Buckler, Javelin, Full Leather Armor, SM 2
Light Infantry - Spear, Shield, Javelin, Ring Mail Hauberk, SM 2
Archer - Short Bow, Dagger, Ring Mail Cuirass, SM 2
Pikeman - Pike, Buckler, Chain Mail Hauberk, SM 2
Medium Infantry - Axe, Tower Shield, Throwing Axe, Chain Mail Hauberk, SM 2
Crossbowman - Mace, Crossbow, Chain Mail Cuirass, SM 2
Longbowman - Short Sword, Long Bow, Chain Mail Cuirass, SM 2
Heavy Infantry - Broad Sword, Kite Shield, Plate Mail Hauberk, SM 1
Heavy Crossbow - Mace, Arbalest, Plate Mail Cuirass, SM 1
Light Cavalry (20g) - Short Sword, Shield, Javelin, Full Ring Mail, SM 3
Horse Archer (20g) - Spear, Buckler, Composite Bow, Full Ring Mail, SM 3
Knight (40g) - Lance, Morningstar, Kite Shield, Full Plate Mail, SM 2
Warrior Maiden (20g) - Sacred, Female (so reduced stats), Chain Mail Cuirass, Hammer, Short Sword, Berserker, SM 2

-- units, capital only --
Paladin (60g) - Sacred version of Knight.
Ranger (15g) - Elite Crossbowman with Stealth and poly-terrain survival.
Imperial Guard (15g) - Elite Heavy Infantry with SM 2.

-- commanders, everywhere --
Spy (30g) - no command, Spy, Stealth
Assassin (60g) - no command, Stealth, Assassinate
Courtesan (75g) - Commands 10, Stealth, Seduce
Leader (40g) - Commands 40, SM 2, poly-terrain Survival, stealth
Lord (60g) - Commands 80, Sacred, SM 2, Mounted, Standard, Patrol Bonus
General (40g) - Commands 120, SM 3, Mounted
Priest (25g) - H1
Witch (100g)- N{AWE,50%}{AWN,50%}{AEN,50%}{EWN,50%}{AEWN,10%}, 50% Fire Vuln, Heals 20%
Wizard (160g) - FS{FAE,50%}{FAS,50%}{FES,50%}{AES,50%}{FAES,10%}, note is old
Apprentice (50g) - {FS,75%}{FAES,25%}

-- commanders, capital only --
Sacred Harrier (100g) - H1, Stealthy Warrior Maiden with Assassinate.
Cardinal (60g) - H3.
Inquisitor (50g) - H2, Inquisition, Patrol Bonus, Stealth.
Mage (350g) - Sacred Wizard with H2N1, picks are 75%, Heals 40%.
Prophetess (325g) - Sacred Witch with H2S2, picks are 75%, Prevents Bad Events 25%.

Then, finally, I add a few more spells to allow you to become a blood/necromancy nation if your pretender starts with either, as well as a few to help broaden magic diversity with certain pretenders.

I'm still fiddling with details on those.

Once I've run a few tests, I'll post the mod.

sounds cool.

maybe this is lame, but is there any way to make each army look slightly different? Like, take the same graphics, only use a color screen, so one army is all tinted red, one is all tinted blue, etc....

It would make watching battles a little easier I think, and maybe not be too much work? I don't know, I've never modded.

It would be easy, and that was originally what I had in mind, EXCEPT that I'm worried about hitting the graphics limit .

But if I can fit it under the graphics limit, yeah, the nations would be red, green, blue, purple, white and brown/yellow.

yeah, i thought about the graphics limit. i reckon it depends on how many different nations of identical units you make. maybe there could be 4 colors.. better than 1, but not unique.

well, i will wait happily.
