Default How long does a game last?

I'm a new player and just curious. In single player, how many turns does the average game take on the different size maps? And the same question for multi-player?

Also, is there anywhere I can see not just a general 'after action report' but an actual turn by turn account of a decent game?

RE: 'actual turn by turn account'

Not really, though in Doom Chicken (where far from a decent game, I died a slow and painful, but educational death) I'm going to upload each and every one of my turn files once the game is over for everyone else. I did a sorta half-arsed AAR while I was playing.

In answering your question this depends on the size of the map, skill/knowledge of the game, the nation you play, the strength achieved by AI opponents via middle/late game and whether or not you've setup the game with some type of victory conditions. With multiplayer add the variable of time limit setup for the hosting of each turn which can change each week.

The game takes about 30mins to learn all the basics, but the game has great depth so even after several months you'll recognize new strategies. And as more months pass you'll feel confident enough to provide the AI opponents with great advantages such as setting them up as allies or providing them a strong set of scales.

There are some AAR's in the multiplayer subforum here.

As to how long? I know that some of the dedicated solo players here posted links to game stats that showed the game going on for almost a year. (really BIG game on really BIG map)

How do u upload your 'turn by turn' files? Do you save the files as they get uploaded individually? I'm assuming now turn overwrites the previous. I'm thinking of writing a newbie aar so this could be useful for me
