Default EA Svarya Enchanted Forest

This mod adds a new EA nation loosely based on slavic mythology. It's a air/nature nation with stealthy light infantry.

P.S. Sorry for the amount of posts i made.

In version 1.01 i made some changes :
1.added a Hero
2.vilas are no longer priests
3.vila wolves have lower HP
4.priests cost more gold and commanders are cheaper

Well you're not forgiven!! we hate you forever!! bwhahaha... okay not really, it's fine.

This mod seems okay, it looks like it may have 'some' balancing issues, but not too many, um, one of the priests is totally under priced, 2N 2A & 2P and he only costs 100.

Other than that, very cool and original.

Hm, good thinks first: Your pictures simply looks amazing, how do you do this?

Critics:
1. You overwrote Eriu. Take a nation Number of 70 or higher.
2. The Vila Wolf is very strong and very cheap.
Etheral + holy for 25 gold? If they were not holy, I'd say okay. With this ... very strong. More like 40 gold.
3. Your commanders: Price = Magic. - At least it should be. 90 gold for the chief is much (60-70 would work) but your mages are underpriced. Your Priest of Perun could better be ~120-130 gp. Only reason one could make him so cheap is the extreamly old age (I don't really know, why he is sooo old, however.
Likewise the Air/Nature priest: He looks more like 200 and should be only slightly above his 100 year old age line.

Last the 400 gp Capital only Vila: Compared to the Oreiad, she has:
Etheral (!)
+3Holy (!)
Fly
Glamour
+4Moral

-1 magic
-5 MR

and minor stuff. Seduction +Fly is very useful, especially for a capital only unit and the other thinks are better, too.

Plus, you have Holy 3 priests and good sacrets - this is dangerous.



4. Oh and it's nice to say, which resources you have used, in the beginning of the dm-file. That way, players can compare, if two mods are compatible with another.

Thanks for the comments . I used the pictures from the sprite data base , then edited them in Paint.Net .
The vesna priest were suposed to only be 2N 2P. I'l try to balance it out.

Hmm, I have not pinpointed the problem yet, but my Mac crashes to desktop when I try to start the mod. Might be that I'm running on development version 3.09, but I'm not sure yet.

Ich told me, that for Linux you need Slaches instead of backslashes for pathnames. Svarya has backslashes in the dm-file (like: #spr1 "\svarya\svarya militia.tga")

Maybe this could be a problem on Macs, too.

Kostadinov, add the slashes to the list.

Nice use and modification of vanilla sprites. Good feel to the nation on first glance - if they are expanded a bit and balanced I could see myself using them.

Where's this mod database you mention? I thought the graphic files given to us by K O were still largely unsorted,... I haven't used them yet because screen capping a graphic then making my own attack sprite seemed quicker.

Oh and just looking at the unit tgas, it seems they don't have any shadows. Those are pretty simple to add :]

I used screenshots and modifing, too. And it always looked somewhat blured. (Hm, now that I mention it - could this have something to do with me running the game in a window?



Anyway, I just took a look at the 1.01 version and it looks balanced.
Removing etheral from the Vila was one good thing and removing Holy was good for her price-balance and for the Wolfes.
I think, before this an Astral blessing and those Wolves could have totally killed everything (add Fireblessing against blessed Vans or similar). Now, with the missing H3, you can no longer simply cast Divine Blessing over and over (Since the Vile had other magic, too, this argument is of course limited by the supidity of the AI, but I don't want to test it. ).

With the reduced Wolves HPs, guarded Archers might make a reasonable early counter-tactic and later it's fire/air magic (but that's a counter tactic to almost everything, anyway).


"Still Bugged or something":
-With the #older command you went over the top, now they are somewhat in the negatives: -25 of 50 and -25 of 100(always plus a few years).
That's not as devastating as being 175/50 years (expected old-age affliction during the next New Year's Day: All of them), but I'd recomment to set older to -115 for the Air Priest and -75 for the Nature priest. This way they have those faces and slightly reduced fighting skills but they are not "as good as dead"

-Is it intentionally, that the Vila Wolf has this Bite/Claw/Claws? Or in numbers: 19/29/33?
Bite 19 is "Strength not added, 15 damage"
Bite Nr 20 has +2 damage, this is probably what you are looking for. It also has "Defence -1" but from my own critters I can't verify this (maybe it depends on the order you add the weapons. You might want to check this and add +1 defence eventually)
Claws Nr 33 are 2 attacks, it's there to represent a "two handed" claw attack, so basicly your wolf attacks with 3 claws. (for a Unit, 33 once or 29 twice makes hardly a diffrence: 29 twice can attack two diffrent targets in the same square and I think 33 can't. Main diffrence is when you have a commander who with hand-item-slots, who takes a 1 handed weapon. With 29 twice he has still a claw left then, with 33 he has not)

-Start a God-design and choose Eriu. You will notice that you can do this, since you took nation Nr 71. Good work so far. But what it this? Pretenders that don't belong there!

If you screen cap a unit you have to do so from the right click information screen at resolution 800x600 fullscreen with the filter in preferences set to 'off'.
