OOB in new patch 3.5
Hello Andy and Don.
Thank you for your work. Each time game becomes better and better. Patch 3.5 has turned out to be very good, but unfortunately it has some discrepancies.
In this post I wish to list some discrepancies in OOB files of the different countries.
1. SVD (russian weapon 009) - has accuracy of 20. It turns out that this rifle shoots with the same accuracy as a machine gun. So I suggest to make an accuracy of 30.
2. Why Russian spetsnaz (units 484 and 840) weapon RPO-A Smel is not avaliable in 2005? It has to be some mistake?
3. Russian unit 873 - truck/ZU-23 - there is truck but there is no gun in it.
4. Russian unit 871 MLTB has radion=60. For unit which has appeared in 2000 it is too little.
5. Russian unit 999 - engineer tank T-34 have HEAT shells that is not correctly - it cannot shoot these shells. I think there should be AP and Sabot shells.
6. Russian unit 598 (GAZ-66) - I would suggest to change an icon to number 677 in game.
7. Russian units 814 and 816 ZU 23 - have radio=50 - I think for units acquired in army in 90th years - this radio should be better.
8. Russian unit 976 Vodnik - has no fire control, range finder digitals... I think there should be digitals.
9. American unit 698 - has not correct dates. So he does not appear in game at all.
10. Red OOB - weapon 164 Khrizantema - should be identical to Russian OOB i.e. accuracy and penetration should be higher.
11. Red OOB - unit 700 - wrong name BMPT, i offer change name BTRT.
Yours faithfully.

Re: OOB in new patch 3.5
I'm not going to bother with most of this now. I have said many times already we are taking a break from this until at LEAST the fall and I'll deal with them then but point 3 is interesting. I see a gun on a truck. I see a gun on a truck in both MOBHack and the game. Why do you not see the gun ?

Re: OOB in new patch 3.5
Just a quick check, and I'll add mine to the existing reports. My patched copy of OOB 11 Russia, Unit 873 does not have a weapon or ammo assigned to any slot.

Re: OOB in new patch 3.5
Ahhh yes. I see now. A slightly different problem than the Icon is wrong.
I'll put it on the to-do list along with the fact the start date for that unit is about 20 years too soon

Re: OOB in new patch 3.5
Just a quick reminder. Andy and I are both taking a nice L O N G break from game development and will be pursing other RL activities until sometime in autumn when we will decide what else we might want to do with the game so although I appreciate "bug spotting" is a cherished, legitimate activity and does serve to warn others of problem it may be worth keeping in mind that a flood of "bug reports" now are going to be buried by October so saving them all up and posting them sometime just after the end of the summer will ensure that they won't be overlooked

Re: OOB in new patch 3.5
It is a pity that you have not guessed to give players for testing Patch 3.5.
In fact it not military secret.
It would exclude simple mistakes.
I hope for understanding and in the future are ready (club SPR and not only we) to test patches before publication !

Re: OOB in new patch 3.5
If you bother to concentrate a bit more on the positive aspect of what was done to the patch instead of every trivial error that you find I might start taking you a bit more seriously. The "errors" that have been found in 3.5 amount to far, far less than .05% of the actual work done on the patch for the game. I can assure you that even if I did follow your recommendations there would still be "errors" found ( whether real or imagined ) becasue after every release, no matter when it was done and no matter how many playtesters we have looking at it, somebody always finds something to ***** about

Just ignore this unit. It should not have been added and it will be removed in any future release. Since it doesn't show up in the game anyway there nothing to worry about

I to you on business have come, and you here read morals to me.
That is not solid.
Really was so difficultly to allow to look at one, two days a new patch to all interested persons ?
I do not suggest to correct disputable OOBs, and I offer testing for detection of banal errors !
