Mod: No old age
Following a request on the main forum, I've made a mod to remove old age from all units in the game. It makes all units which should be old 4-5 years below their maxage, at least in principle (I haven't looked hard, but have already found a couple of odd behaviours in the Abysians - but they're still not old).
I don't think I'll use this mod myself, but being as a fair few people seem to find old age annoying, I thought it might be useful to make it.
Edit: Old version removed, see a couple of posts down for the two alternative new versions.

Re: Mod: No old age
this mod does not eliminate old age. mages still start with old age(sometimes) due to the random roll for starting age.
But it does eliminate extreme old age from all starting mages.

Re: Mod: No old age
Okay, thanks to Edi's pointing out the aging mechanics, and a bit more thought on my part, we now have a new, tweaked "Reduced old age" mod.
The changes are:
- Before I misunderstood how fire magic affected old age, resulting in, e.g. funny ages for the Abysians
- All previously old units are now roughly 8% below their maxage on average. I've found this gives a moderate rate of old age randomly occurring - so like Xietor says, there will occasionally be an old unit, but they won't all be old. Previously all units were just 4-5 years below their maxages, which... well, it's not very interesting, but lets just say it was a bit wrong.
So basically it's just a bit more consistent.

Re: Mod: No old age
And here, for the real hardcore old-age haters, is a "no old age" mod, where all units are at least 25% below their maxage. You should never see old age any more with this mod, I think (magic aside).

Re: Mod: No old age
Great, love it for SP.
Haven't loaded it yet as I haven't started a new game, but I'm assuming it helps the AI as well?

Re: Mod: No old age
Hi just what I've been looking for, I really dislike the old age and I'm sorry to say it even stops me playing some races.
Will probably use the reduced old age version just to tone it down this has opened up many new races for me.
Many Thanks
Hully
