so I was wondering if it is possible to enter characters like into names somehow...
I mean the computer does it randomly with some names... but I can't find a way to do so manually.
also I guess its woth mentioning that Sauromatia hero Skgu spawns as Sk for some reason, despite his text reading "Skgu."

Re:
It's really easy. Press the key in your keyboard with or on it and presto!
What?

Re:
If your keyboard does not support those characters (like a US-english kb, for example), you can try using the alt-codes for the character you are looking for. For example, the alt-code for is 0246. Alt codes can be found easily via the Character Map program which should be at Start->Accessories->System Tools->Character Map on any given windows machine.
Now - as to whether dom3 will actually accept those codes - I dont know. If windows handles the translating at the OS level then it should be fine as dom3 wouldnt even know this was happening.

Re:
One way that I have found to do it is to copy the character from an existing source (like in this topic) and paste it into your text editor. This works in notepad & vim on my WinXP system.

Re:
My misunderstanding. I thought you were trying to use it in maps/mods, not naming in game.

Re:
You mean like ܢPѪ_?
Or maybe ?
Alt + right number pad, 1-255 + release ALT

Re:
oh man, I already know alt + numbers.... but dom3 does not recognize the alt key being held, so all you get is numbers.
I will accept that is a no.... but the keyboard layout changing looks promising. Thanks kalkkis.
edit: well that works like a charm in normal programs, but again dom 3 doesn't recognize that I am holding down the alt key.
dang.
