Immortality
I'm a fool, but I can't seem to find the immortality spell anywhere. Which path? I'm looking to insure the life of my precious commanders (and the whole mummy thing is nice, but...) so other suggestions are welcome.

There isn\'t one.
It'd be rather difficult to 'fairly' price it, given how powerful it could become.

Re: There isn\'t one.
That would explain why I couldn't find it in the game. Though there are several threads speaking of such a spell...

Re: There isn\'t one.
immortality isn't a spell, it's a state certain creatures-and not all of them are Pretenders-are in. And certainly, not all Pretenders are immortal either. I don't think you can even Wish for it, although it would be nice if you could...

Re: There isn\'t one.
there is a spell called twiceborn where the spellcaster returns as a wight mage, essentially a lich, which is immortal, I believe.

Re: There isn\'t one.
Yeah, but I don't think that spell works for Ancient Krakens, unless I'm wrong.

Re: There isn\'t one.
I imagine it does, if you can manage to get them out of the water (there is a magic item that can do that)
the disadvantages of being underwater are arguably balanced by the advantage of being hard to reach by those who are not underwater.

Re: There isn\'t one.
Yes, but the question isn't whether you can turn an Ancient Kraken into a lich, the question is whether you can turn an Ancient Kraken into an Ancient Kraken who is ALSO a lich. To turn an Ancient Kraken into a standard demi-lich might be possible, but it would be a waste.

Aquatic nations should beware of Twiceborn.
Wight mages are not amphibious in any way.
Water magic no longer conveys the ability to breathe water, even to the caster.
End result: instant drowning.
It should also be noted that pretender morphing is permanent; if your pretender drowns as a wight mage, he'll reappear as a wight mage when Call God is used, not as per his original form (unless this has changed from D2...).
Thus ends one of the more arguably abusive D2 R'lyeh exploits: Twiceborning a rainbow Void Lurker to get a rainbow wight mage with more slots and the ability to actually run around.
