i ran a small test with T90s (India) vs Al-khalid and Al zarar (Pakistan). Aparently both tanks have the same gun as on t-80UD with max AP penetration of 79. The t90 frontal armor is 72.
To my suprise the T90 shrugged of al-zarar shots hits after hits, while the al-khalid mauled it quite bad!

Is there some other factor that impacts penetration? For instance would the targeting specs increase the probability of hit with more favorable angels?

Could not understand the difference. I will try the test again to reconfirm my observation.

pls: is there any way to setup AIvs AI battle that I could observe? Gets apain playing both sides while testing

Just ran a test myself. Both Pakistan tanks had no problem killing the T90 under exactly the same conditions (well, I didn't equalise all crew scores...).

Perhaps there was some difference between the two in your test (range, angle of fire, etc)?

PS just set both players as computer and you'll see an AI vs AI battle.

What was the range? The AO might have dropped the 7 critical points while travelling

sorry been away due to pc trouble. Havent had a chance to test again. But the tanks where moving at speed. Didnt realise they loose 'points' due to travel? I find the t90 with the indians next to useless would rather buy pakistani al-khalids
