Default Bug with Shapechanging commanders

When playing MA Jotun you have shapechanging mages with leadership 10. But in thier other forms they have leadership 40, so you can just shapechange them give them 40 soldier then change them back. So effeciently they have leadership 40.

It looks like a bug, all forms should have leadership 10 or 40 or exess units should be removed when changing shape.

This is not something I notice, but I have experienced something similar : sometimes, an event gives me a Priest or High Priest fully filled with Flagellants or militias, and it appears that the given commander has more soldiers in his squad than his leadership limit.
If I take away the soldier and try to give again to him, then the limit apply ...

It happens to me a few times ...

Strange.

Suspension of disbelief:
Some folks are more inspiring, efficient, and capable than others (higher leadership) and can therefore command the attention and fealty of a larger group of troops.
Once said troops have already agreed to follow a particular leader, though, they're not going to run off just because the leader happens to turn into a wolf. As far as the random events, remember these people are motivated by religious zeal to enlist. This religious zeal temporarily makes the priest a more impressive figure in their eyes; once they're in the army, though, things don't look quite so rosy. If you give them furlough and then ask them to re-deploy under the same commander, some of them will resist.
(you can get a similar effect with the spell that summons a small undead army into a distant province, but I leave the justification to the reader... )
