Default Need suggestions for start locations on new map...

I was playing around with a new map and when it came to placing valid start locations I quickly became frustrated. Might be that it would make a fair multiplayer/blitz map, but without fair starting locations, well, it would be a wasted effort.

I am attaching the map to this post. It is still a work in progress, but I would appreciate if some experienced players would take a look at it in the map editor and list a suggested number of players and province numbers to make valid start locations. It is a 116 province, all land, wrap around map. I was thinking 6 player, but see what you think.

To be more balanced you would want to move the wasteland(yellow) province on the far left further north by two. Then the best starting provinces would be any of the very corner mountain provinces. The territory in the dead center should be a territory with high victory crowns... even if victory points are not used. I have some creative ideas for the very center of the map if you want.

Thank you for the input NT Jedi.

I really don't want to take the time to redraw the map (except for minor adjustments that won't impact the province & terrain information). Also, the left center wasteland (yellow) that I think you are referring to is actually a continuation of the right center wasteland. It is a wrap around map, so placing players in the mountain corners will actually place them right on top of each other.

I was considering making it a king of the hill type map with the center province being very valuable (crowns), so glad to see that you saw it that way as well. I am certainly open to any creative ideas that you might have for the center province, but I am hesitant to "hard code" too much in the way of special monsters & sites since I kind of envision this a being more of a multiplayer map.

Could make multiple versions if the interest was there I guess...

I like the layout of the map, but visually it's a little rough. I think you could benefit by recoloring the borders (to make them a little more visible) and touching up those grey hex borders. I could show you what I mean if you want, it's not hard. I guess it really depends on the style you are going for.
