hey, how do I get my troop transports to drop...

in simultanious strategy mode(I can do it in tactical, you just move em up and hit the deploy button). I have 2 of them set to attack the planet, their strategy says "capture planet" but in combat they usually retreat and they haven't put any troops on the planet(the cargo is still full). Do I need to arm them or something or drop the cargo manualy(I'm haven't started sorting through all the strategy settings and what they do yet, been focusing on learning the tech tree, designs and managing the empire)?

The AI can be fussy about this. I seem to recall that in SE IV transports would only attempt to drop troops when there were no weapons left on the target planet, OR if they were the only ships present (no weapons on your side to destroy the weapons on the planet) they'd make a suicide run to try to drop troops. Do your transports have any 'escort' or are they just a landing force?

There could be problems with the scripting in SE V since this is so new.
