Default SEV: Can weapons have political side effects?

Can weapons have political side effects? Like radiating a planet lowers your political outlook.

As far as I can tell no; maybe the AI scripts can be set to allow that.

You -can- ban certain weapons via treaties, though.

GNN News, 2404.6.

After deploying a terrifying new weapon known only by its codename, "Plague Bomb I", against an inhabited planet belonging to the Sergetti, the Emperor of the Jraenar now has a full-scale uprising to deal with.

The usage of the new weapon shocked and terrified many races, but none more than his own people. The Jraenar Parliament is expected to pass a motion in its next meeting, deposing the Emperor and turning the Jraenar Imperium into a full, Greek-style democracy with only a defensive and exploratory military.

Sources near the Emperor were unavailable for comment.
