I'd recommend starting at the very beginning. Makes way more sense that way.

Yes, it makes more sense if you start at the beginning, but you have to deal with some pretty bad drawing for a while. The author's early artwork had a great deal of room for improvement, which I'm happy to say has been taken advantage of since (i.e. it improved, a lot).
