Default SHP Editing Color Question

Hi,

I'm messing around with SHP files (I'm working on a Hammer's Slammers OOB/Icon Mod) and I need some vehicles that are predominantly gray in color. The problem I'm running into is that most of the shades of gray I use end up being "animated" in the game, and continuously change color. Is there a way around this? Are there only certain shades of gray that do not display this "animated" behavior?

Thanks!

Adrian

If you use the palette: JASC_WINSP_ICON_PALETTE.pal in the Game Data\Design\Palettes -directory there will no longer be animation in your colors. Always use this palette when doing new unit icons instead of the default palette in the graphics folder.

In using SHPedit (I suppose you do), tick the box marked "SP-No Flash", which will prevent the shp converter from using the glinting colors.

Of course, use the palette Nox mentionned, if you want anything to look right!

BTW, aren't there any mention of optical camoed units in Drake's stories? If so, that could be something funny to figure with glinting grey shades on the edges of an uncolored (pink) unit, if you want to try...

I belive the orignal Hammers Files are still avalible on-line somewhere (Games Depot?? can't remember exactly). Although the OOB files are for V2 the SHP's still work fine.
