If you have been following the new Sci-Fi channel Battlestar Galatica series then you most already share the opinion that the show is very good sci-fi.

Would any of care to share your opinions of the show?

Character I like the most: Adama
Character I like the least: Lee Adama (Apollo)

I would like to make a predicition. I believe that the Pegasus will be destroyed by the tactical nuke that Baltar gave to the cylon agent that he freed from the Pegasus brig.

Favourite character: Tricky question, I'd have to say Adama. I keep thinking they will do something endearing because he is supposed to be a good guy, but am pleasantly surprised when he does stuff I like. eg. when he comes out of his coma he doesn't judge his XO because he doesn't believe you can judge someone unless you were in the same situation.

Character I hate: President Roslin. She's a nut job and has no right being in her position with her problems. If I had been that guard that caught her escaping I would have shot her. Close second would be Apollo, who turned on his own father.

keep in mind I am only up to the episode where Roslin is on Kobol. Need to make time to watch up to resurection ship pt 2.

My prediction is that when it ends they find an Earth fleet (turns out to be the future) whom the Cylons attack. The Earth fleet obliterates the cylons with no difficulty their weapons being much more advanced.

Indeed a spoiler , because here in Holland the Series has just started (episode 8 now).

But indeed I agree with you, that it is an real good show, and I also like the Adama Character but doen't follow you in you disliking Apollo (But maybe I will in another season)

And offcourse I like the looks of Starbuck, better looking than the Starbuck of the old series, but that isn't very hard to accomplish

Favorite character -- Baltar. You just don't know what he's going to do next. The guy playing him is doing a great job.

Leaast favorite -- Tigh. He's just an ***. By design naturally, but still, the Tigh in the old series was at least competent.

Favorite Character: Adama. I like the whole good guy caught between two worlds. At his core he seems to have that very noble sense of humanity that Sci-Fi is all about. I hope hope hope they play more on the concept that it isn't enough to survive, that humanity has to be worthy of surviving. If I had to make a prediction, I think that ultimately the humanity being worthy of surviving will be the fulcrum of the show, eventually leading to peace between the cylons/humans.

I don't agree about Apollo. I like his character, above all others in the series I think he understands the role of the military, that is protecting the population and it's established government. Albiet he is a bit childish at times, but considering the emotional trauma he (along with the rest of the fleet) are suffering I can understand it.

Why isn't Tigh compotent? He hasn't made a single truly bad decision. From the get go Adama should have declared marshall law for there was truly no functioning governmetn, according to military code starbuck should have been drummed out of the military for. It was tigh who kept saying that they needed to get the fleet back together when it was seperated. It was tigh who shaved the ship in the mini. It was tigh who made the tough decision to find the fleet the second time it split. Tigh is the man! Yah, he has a flaw, his drinking, but he controls it, if you ask me his only reall weakness is that wife of his. Dump her out an Airlock.

Least Favorite Character: Hmmmm..... I like them all, even the ones I hate. I don't like what they did with Apollo, but that is just cause I thought he was going to be the strong, true military guy thruoghout the series, and they have kinda broken down his character.

I agree though about the Peggy's fate. I mean, that whole situation just screams quick exit for the pegasus.

On a side note, am I the only one who thinks adama needs a damned haircut?

I hate to say such things, but there is always alternative methods for viewing the episodes.

As to Apollo, I dunno about this charater. Perhaps its just that I don't like the way that the actor is handling it, or perhaps its just reminds me too much of luck skywalker. Honestly though, I think it is that Jamie just isn't up to the task of acting for this character.

I don't know, I think he is doing a good job. I think he did better in the mini, but he is still doing a good job. I just think they have been kinda wishy washy with his character. From the beginning it was apperant that he was going to be the one that took this whole apacolypse thing the worst, but they can't seem to keep it consistant with who he is and how he deals with it.

Anyways, I wanted to say one more thing about why Adama is the coolest starship commander in all of Sci Fi. He a superior being to death with a flasshlight.

To prove this, I would just like to stick Adama in some scenes from other scifi:

Star Trek: Khan is being smug and going on and on about how he has defeated Adama. So, Adama beats him to death with a flashlight.

B5: The shadows slowly creap closer to Adama, he is trapped on a balcony overlooking a bottomless pit. In his own mind he hears Kosh call to him. "Jump" Koshs says. "Jump." Adama takes on last look at the bottomless pit, then pulls out his flashlight and proceeds to beat the shadows to death with it. All of them.

2001: "Open the podbay door HAL." "I can't do that Adama" Violent flashlight thrashing ensues.

Aliens: Face huger doesn't even have time to detach before adama beats it to death with his flashlight.

Lost in Space: Mr smith sabatoged the ship? Adama pulls out his flashlight and I think you know where this is going......

I'll second your Nuke/Pegasus theory. As for finding Earth, I think they'll find us at our current point in history. Earth will unite and wipe out or at least hold off the Cylons. Hopefully flying motorcycles and Dr. Z are not involved.
I like Starbuck. She can ride my viper anytime. Or Boomer; wait, don't make me choose!

Baltar just makes me squirm uncomfortably. I like Apollo, he's had logical reasons for doing these irrational things each time he has done them, although I can see why folks wouldn't like him. He is the character I think the writers are trying the most to make everyone like. But it has weakened the character.
